MIChild is a health insurance program in Michigan for uninsured children. MIChild services are provided by many of the HMOs and various other healh care plans throughout the state of Michigan.
Pre-existing conditions are covered under the MIChild program. It is important to note that previous medical bills are not covered.
If parent are divorced and have joint custody, the parent the children live with the majority of the time should apply. The income of the other parent is not taken in to consideration when applying. NOTE: MIChild cannot be used as a substitute for court ordered health insurance.

- Health and dental care for children age 18 and under
- MIChild premiums are $10 per family per month
- Administered by the Michigan Department of Community Health (DCH)
