If a child is independent, or married and is 19 years or less and between 185% and 200% of poverty they are eligible for MIChild.
When the child has been previously eligible for Healthy Kids and are 185% poverty level and below they are eligible for MIChild.
Ultimately you need to apply, which takes about 15 minutes. MIChild will review completed applications within 10 days from the date a complete application is received, and make a recommendation of eligibility to Michigan Department of Community Health.
