The Skinny on Vitamins

Feeling sluggish?  Experiencing numbness, in your hands or feet resulting in a lack of coordination?

There is a very real possibility that you are not receiving enough essential vitamins through your diet alone.  This is quite common during the winter months due to the availability, or lack thereof of fresh fruits and vegetables and the lack of sunlight.

Check your symptoms and stock your medicine cabinet.  It is going to be a long winter.

  • Joint pain and bleeding gums indicates a lack of Vitamin C
  • Numbness in hands and feet suggests a lack of Vitamin B12
  • Pale skin, fatigue, irritability could mean you need more Iron, especially in women
  • Unexplained muscle or bone pain may mean a lack of Vitamin D.  Even though it will be chilly, seek to take a walk around the block during days of sun.

Be sure to see your doctor is these symptoms become severe and are not alleviated with higher doses of essential vitamins.
